Closing the
2000-2001 season was David Ives's ALL IN THE TIMING, a series of related
one-act plays that constitute a virtual stress test of the English
language - and of the audience's capacity for disorientation and delight.
The world according to Ives is on the cosmic edge, where characters plunge into black holes called "Philadelphias;" where chimpanzees named Milton, Swift, and Kafka are locked in a room and asked to write HAMLET; where time stops and restarts without regard to beginning or end. ALL IN THE TIMING was presented in the round in the Black Box during June and will be brought back for a final brief run in September. |
